Workshops are designed for finance and non-financial professionals, operating managers with P&L and business growth and development responsibilities, investors and lenders responsible for evaluating financial health, and emerging leaders looking to strengthen performance through high powered and engaged teams. GSL offers a viable alternative for global managers who want to continue their professional growth and development but may not be certain or in a position to commit to a traditional advanced degreed program. Upon successful completion of a comprehensive exam at the end of each workshop (minimum passing score 80%), participants will receive a certificate of accomplishment and the ability to retain and utilize practical applications of key concepts and techniques which will enhance their effectiveness and lead to greater career success.

Global Strategic Learning's mission is to help develop the next generation of global business leaders. Global Strategic Learning (GSL) provides in-person and online professional development management workshops in the areas of finance, strategy, change management, and leadership for business professionals looking to further their careers by investing in their ongoing management skill set in an affordable, convenient,  and impactful way. GSL offers an attractive and cost-efficient alternative to more expensive theory-based university programs. GSL focuses on providing its participants with finance, strategic, and leadership acumens to rapidly respond to change in a dynamic business environment, thereby gaining a sustainable advantage over their competitors.

Approach


GSL workshops are approximately 2-4 hours each and can be taken individually or as a series for maximum impact. Workshops are conveniently delivered online for individual participants and onsite for corporate clients. Workshops are designed to be interactive and encourage participation in order to maximize retention and utilization of strategic learnings. GSL workshops are offered continuously throughout the year on a rotating scheduled calendar for the greatest convenience and flexibility of its participants.  Workshop size is limited so advanced registration is required. Participants who successfully complete the Management Series have the opportunity to apply the key concepts and techniques from the workshops through the Global Business Simulation Module. The GBS Module will help participants to not only retain their strategic learnings, but to also apply them in a simulated competitive global environment.

Instructor


Management Series workshops will be presented by Dr. Lanze Thompson, Principal Instructor. Dr. Thompson has published several business books; The Globalization ParadigmTranscend from Management to LeadershipThe Consumer Value Model, and Quarterly Profits vs. Long-Term Strategy. Dr. Thompson has taught online classes in Global Strategy and Risk Management for the University of Phoenix' doctorate and MBA programs. Dr. Thompson has presented at industry conferences and events such as Innovation Enterprise's FP&A Innovation Summit, MEXE's Concepts and Techniques in Financial Management, and GMSDC's Executive Leadership Series. Dr. Thompson has been an invited speaker at Georgia State University, University of South Carolina, Boston College, Pace University, and Clayton State. He has also been a pioneer in developing corporate initiatives in the areas of mentorship, recruitment, talent development, and retention.

Dr. Thompson has served on the Board of Directors for Clayton State University's College of Business, Alcoa Power, PSEG - Entertech, Con Edison Solutions, and Con Edison Communication. He currently serves on the Board for GlobalMindED, Emory Winship Cancer Institute, and Fulton County Workforce Development. Dr. Thompson has written extensively on strategies for effective Board Governance and the Roles and Responsibilities of The Board of Directors.

Dr. Thompson earned his Doctorate in Business from Pace University with concentrations in Global Marketing Strategy and International Business. He graduated first in his class and received Pace’s highest award for his dissertation on Globalization and Industry Consolidation. Dr. Thompson received his MBA from Boston College, concentrating in Strategic Management and Finance and he is a graduate of Colby College with a BA in Economics.
